Finished Durarara!!, at last

So, about the Shizuo/Izaya pairing. I have thoughts.

cut for rambly shipping talk )

*insert random noise here*

Well, I guess you could say it seems like nobody is mad at me about calling in sick. If they are, they've not said anything, but a couple of the teachers were actually pretty worried about me. (I think one was convinced it was heat stroke.) But I'm back on my feet and all is well. And I've been volunteered to participate in the tug-of-war on Sports Day, this Saturday (which is why I have to randomly work on a Saturday).

And in totally other news~

Not spoiler cut, since nobody else is watching this series... .^^;;

Last week's episode of Giant Killing was exciting! Gino got pissed. ... It was kinda hot. >3 I mean... this was the first time he's ever been not smiling. And not only was he not smiling, he was pissed.
This whole match he's been having problems with his foot, so his passes weren't going through, but I'd been convinced he was just sandbagging it - pretending there was a real problem when there wasn't, just to throw their opponents off. But when he finally gets a pass through to Natsuki, and Natsuki blows it... Well, that look Gino gave made me change my mind. I think maybe he really is having problems, so that waste of a good pass is more meaningful than if he were at his usual pace.

Oh, Gino. You're so much love. I'ma name a doll after you.

Sort of related; if you can view stuff on Pixiv, look here. Is cute. .^_^

Also, I don't know when or why people started pairing Dori and Sera... but I'm not against it. XD

Anyway, I'm downloading this week's episode right now. Fun times~!

And finally~

It's been a while since I've made icons, but lately I've been inspired to make some. Not many (really...), but these are my new ones:

I've almost got one for each of my dolls. .^^

Oh! And finally finally,

I realized that last week (on the 1st) was Quincy's 2nd birthday. So~ Happy Birthday Quincy~!!
Even if we couldn't be together for it. .;_;

More Kuroshit talk.

Through episode 9.

Cut for spoilers, as usual. )

Aug. 25th, 2010

Where did Byakuya go, anyway?

Dear Bleach,

cut for spoilers )

Though I did manage to score an UkiBya doujinshi the other day. Ukitake thinks Byakuya grew up to be mighty pretty, and then they hold hands. =3

Johan <3

That was quite possibly the best series I've ever seen in my life, ever.

And I am now absolutely in love with an animated psychopath.

Monster, episode 44

Oh my GODS.

I have never before, in my 16 years of being an anime fan, been thrown for as big a trip as I just was.

Holy SHIT.

Holy..... shit.

Taken from Tabby, and likewise instead of doing one a day, I'll just do them all now. .^^

Also, if you've never seen Monster, you should probably be watching it right now.

Woah, demon mating ritual?

day into night, sugar into salt, dark blue into gold

I've been thinking more about Kuroshitsuji, and how I think things will end up playing out in the second series in particular. Just some hypothesis.

There will be spoilers, of course, so if you haven't seen the first series, or the first episode of the second series, go ahead and skip this.

spoiler cut! )

I'm so confused!

Welp, I've seen the first episode of the new Kuroshitsuji series. And... I'm very intrigued, very conflicted, and very confused.

I still hold to the belief that all the people who bitched and cried about the old cast not being in the new series need to get the fuck over it. Consider this a new series that might have a lot of potential to be awesome, instead of writing it off as not the old.

But then to find out the entire fandom was trolled hard? XD OMG, that's so awesome!!

BRB, LOL'in forever~!

But I digress. The preview for the next episode has me confused, because I no longer know who this series is supposed to be about. All I know is PLEASE DON'T TAKE CLAUDE AWAY FROM ME! .;o; I know we only just met, but... I love him.

My feelings for Alois, however, kept flip flopping. I went from thinking "oh, you cheeky brat," to "ahahaha he's nuts! XD " to "..... that was a dickface thing to do, you little shit," to "oh... there's probably a reason he's crazy.... I kinda feel bad for him."

Damn it! This series does this to me every time! (I can't wait to see more! X3 )

Jun. 19th, 2010

Love, oh love

D'aww~ Aren't they cute?

Except, I didn't want to like this pairing. For starters, because Tsubaki obviously has a little puppy crush on Murakoshi, and he's cute, so he deserves it. But also, because it seems Murakoshi/Gino fanworks are non-existent, and the last thing I need is to adore another pairing that'll be overpowered by larger ships.

Can't I just like what's popular for once!?

But in the end, they're the type of pair I really like, and I'm already starting to squee whenever they give each other looks, or whenever Gino calls him "Kosshii" and puts an arm around him (after telling him he's "looking good"). Tsubaki will have to make it a triangle, but ultimately leave the adults to their game.

Edit - Also, I find how high up Gino has to reach to put an arm around Murakoshi quite adorable. XD

Jun. 4th, 2010

Murakoshi is my new anime boyfriend.

Quote of the day:

"You are a beefy piece of animated man-cake."

School days~

Mondays are generally very busy for me. I always have a full schedule on Mondays. .... Fridays too, but Mondays are tough, because I'm just coming off the weekend - I sleep in on Sunday mornings, so can't get to bed on time Sunday nights, so don't get much sleep at all for the busy, busy Mondays. But it's ok; Mondays are at the junior high school, so even though I have classes all day, they mostly just consist of standing there and speaking on command. No singing or clapping or dancing, like if I were at the elementary (like I do aaaaaaaall day on my busy, busy Fridays).

Some days there are staff meetings. When it happens at the elementary school, they usually kick me out, which is kinda... eeeeeeh.... Well, whatever, as long as my timesheet gets stamped, I guess. Today we had one at the junior high school. They usually let me stick around, which makes me feel included, even if they don't address me or talk to me or acknowledge me in any way. So I spent today's meeting coloring (I've taken to coloring any time/class schedules they give me, as it helps me see what's going on more clearly), and had a fun little moment of "I'm getting paid to do this." ;P

I don't know if it's funny or weird or creepy or what, but even at the students' young age, I can pretty much already tell who's going to grow up really attractive. Some of them are very pretty. One of the 9th grade guys has two little moles, one on each side of his nose. It's so cute!

Also, there's a group of 8th grade girls who seem to really like me. .^,^ Whenever they see me, they'll run over, even if it's out of their way, just to wave and say "Hello!" to me. =3 So fun.

And on a totally unrelated note, I'm totally plugging Giant Killing. And not just because it features Okiayu as the stern captain of a sports team who comes pretty damn close to saying "Yudan sezu ni ikou." Simply because, after only five episodes, I'm totally hooked. Hooked enough to use the word "totally" three times in as many sentences. Watch it. =3

..... I think I've watched more anime in the past month than I have in the past five years put together.

07-Ghost, episode 9

Yeah, I bawled.

Like... the entire episode.

Apr. 18th, 2010

I'm happy. Ya know?

Yes, so obviously, this is the I-Started-Work post.

My first week of teaching was fine and dandy. Mostly just introducing myself a lot. I like my jr. high a lot, so far. It's pretty relaxed, and the other teachers/staff are very nice. The Vice Principle is a crack-up, and the Principal seems very dedicated to the school and the students. The office ladies are cute, and don't speak any English, but are very patient with me and my meager Japanese. I love passing students in the halls, because they'll all be like "Hello!" or "Konnichi- ah, hello!" X3 On my second day there, I got to spend time pruning flowers with a 1st-year student who was actually from Indonesia; her English was very good, and one of the first things she asked me was "Do you have Facebook? Do you play Farmville?" *laughs* I told her I was apparently the only person in the world who doesn't play Farmville. On my third day there, after one class a trio of girls came up just to talk to me and ask me questions, practicing the English they already knew. I felt special. .^_^

And despite what PoT would have you believe, Japanese middle-schoolers do not look like 25-year-olds. .^^;;

I have, so far, only been to my elementary school half a day. Where as the jr. high is a brand new building, the elementary is very old, and it shows. It looks a bit run-down, dirty, and the floors are full of scuffs. The entire staff there, while still nice, speaks maybe ten words of English between them, and that includes the teacher who's been assigned to be the head of international studies (English). And of course, the building is full of small children. Well... duh. But that means the students are constantly running around, screaming, wrestling, and takes a lot more than a "Quiet, please" to calm them down. But the biggest difference, I think, will be that I actually have to work at the elementary school. .^^ I mean, at the jr. high they have regular English teachers, and those teachers write and perform the lesson plans. My job there is to act as a native voice, so the students can hear the language with a regular American accent. I repeat key words and phrases, or give short demonstrations, but for the most part I stand there and wait for the main teacher to tell me to speak. At the elementary school, though, I'll actually have to be the one conducting the class. Thankfully they already have lesson plans and materials prepared, so all I have to do is perform them, but it will be me standing up there, giving the lesson.

Mm...but that's to be expected. It's what I'm here for. And... at least I only have one elementary school, unlike the one guy here who got FIVE. Poor guy.

I still have to see how it'll go when I get into the swing of things. This past week has been strange because I'm mostly doing introductions, and the jr. high had testing, and the elementary actually gave me Friday off, since they had parent-teacher conferences. Hopefully, things will get normal soon.

And in totally other news... I have recommendations!

This story is very good. Everyone should read it.

This anime looks promising. I'm looking forward to more.

And this anime also looks sexy and fun. >3

Ooh, I just got a mail on my shiny new Japanese cell phone! .^_____^

Akuma de..

I think I'm the only one rather excited about the news of the next season of Kuroshitsuji. Or rather... the new series coming out, Monoshitsuji. Because it really is more of a brand new series, rather than a second season of an existing series. It's got totally new characters, and a new plot. It's a new anime, set in the same universe as an existing one. And that's cool.

I look forward to it. I hope the new characters are as wickedly lovable as the old.

But apparently Hitler disagrees. XD

Nov. 9th, 2009

Eh heh..

Speaking of that PoT OVA... I still haven't found the 'Another Story' one(s?) (nevermind - found!), but I did find the Rikkai thing.. .... And Kite's album... and a bunch of other music and stuff I've missed by not really caring over the past few years. Heh.. And now my computer wants to kill me for downloading all this shit. ::laughs::

[falsetto]I don't understand why my harddrive fills up so fast! =O [/falsetto]

Quote of the day, #1:
"Oh Ash-bee~ ... 'Cause you know he's involved somehow."

"It's because Nee's a genius. .... Now if only she would use her powers for good, instead of evil."

In other news, I've finally started watching the new filler arc of Bleach... and I LOVE IT! XD Super super cool!

When I first started watching, I thought if it's all about a problem with the zanpakuto, then that leaves no room for Ishida or Chad (or Orihime... I guess...) to really do anything or have any part in it.... But as I watched and learned more, my new opinion is that actually Ishida and Chad (and Orihime... I guess...) may actually be very integral to the solution, since they don't use zanpakuto. Hmm....

Just a thought. Will probably be wrong. .^^;
